No energy for “challenges” yet ready for opportunities that “get” me
As we enter the third full week in January, I want to declare that I’m all challenged out… I’m betting that you know what I mean.
The posts on social media, starting in December, offered challenges for the new year—to create art, draw, journal, track my time, meditate (!), start a new aspect of my business, and more. I’ll be honest, I signed up for three (two of which are nuanced continuations of work I am already doing with certain folks). I entered them with the mindset Suleika Jaouad (creator of the Isolation Journals) suggested. In A New Year’s Journaling Project, she offers a ritual, grounded in a guiding theme and 30 prompts over a month’s time. All this feels comfortable to me. That’s why I joined. In her words,
You don’t need any prior experience.
You don’t need a picture-perfect setup or a well-rehearsed routine.
You don’t need clarity before you begin. You just need a few minutes a day, a pen, and a willingness to listen—to yourself, and to what’s asking for your attention.
January can be loud with expectations. This is an invitation to do something quieter. Something steadier. Something that accumulates.
I’ll be right there with you—writing, wondering, and living the questions, one day at a time.
With you on the page,
Suleika
Honestly, there are enough challenges in the world right now. I want to have the energy to meet them and give what I can—my time, energy, and resources. I am consciously turning toward programs and offers that work with me to build my inner wisdom, knowledge, and skills step by step.
What about you?- How are you perceiving the ending of 2025 and the beginning of 2026?
- How are you working with what’s the same and what’s different from years past?
- What are your experiences?
- How are you feeling, and what are your thoughts?
To be clear, I’d be the first to say I am excited about what’s new and different about what I’m doing. And, I am tired of the cacophony… I can hold both of those realities. I appreciate the clarity that comes from knowing what will serve me, so that saying “No” becomes easier because it leads to the “Yes” of the life I desire.
How is 2026 beginning for you? Honestly, I’d love to know!
